Happening in May

We have been cruising smoothly this past few days. Students have been introduced to basic greeting skills, circle time songs and a whole lot of preliminary skills like how to wash hands, where to keep their bags, how to put things back where they belong, how to tidy up after a mess, where to get the paint brushes, how to roll and unroll mat. For some students, its natural, but for the younger ones, a lot of guidance is required at this beginning stage. Students were also taught manners during eating, for Muslim children the prayers to recite prior to eating and basic principle such as appreciating God's blessings. During some days, we brought the children to the park to get a real good work out on their gross motors!

During a field trip to Petrosains recently. The students enjoyed the collaboration and team work required to move the beans around! What fun!

Student in the picture is observed to be engaged in matching the right circle size of the geometric tray.

Nature walk: As the children have observed a lot of rubbish at the opposite side of the school, they requested to do another round of trash collecting. We have also planted corn seeds, and in due time, we will be sure to ask for more plants to be planted around the area where we believe is quite essential to our students' environment.

What a good citizen of the earth! Please do not litter. Maybe we should work on a poster from the children to promote awareness among the community around from littering.

Matching and learning the names of colours using colour tablets.

Pointillation: The art of creating a picture using points

Mathematic manipulatives called small number rods to do addition is so appealing.

Table scrubbing activity involving a spray , cute brush, bubbles and towel... is so contagious!
